PREVIEW: Shop Our Fashion Picks from Artisanal Brands at Artefino Online

By Isha Valles on, October 18, 2020

After setting up shop online last June for the benefit of the Philippine General HospitalArteFino has moved its annual shopping event online to continue supporting local artisanal brands and communities. Its 45 brand partners will now be able to reach local and international audiences alike as its website is open 24/7 for shoppers to get their hands on fashion and homeware that are proudly made in the Philippines.

Taking into consideration the lifestyle shift that the pandemic has brought upon all of us, ArteFino’s founders curated the products with the quarantined home in mind. “Great focus was given to products that were essential, and supported by the concept of a circular economy—items that are reflective of living in the new normal,” explained co-founder Cedie Lopez-Vargas

You’ll also notice a change in the price points, with most of the items figuring at P5,000 and below. A pair of paperbag-waist shorts with Inabel fabric by Wenya comes at P1950, while a top embroidered by the tribeswomen of Lake Seibu from Kaayo Modern Mindanao costs P3200. You can even purchase a pretty and presko cotton nightgown from Antukin Sleepwear for P1295.

“The idea of giving up on a physical fair was extremely difficult, but this lockdown meant for us to move away from the usually busy mall experience as consumers focused on what we remain as our key factor—supporting local and independent businesses and artisans,” says co-founder Susie Quiros. The digital space has made the shopping experience easier for customers: Orders can be made easily, payment can safely be made with Paypal or PayMaya, and delivery is efficiently coordinated. They have even partnered with DHL for international shipping.

In this time of rapid change, ArteFino remains steadfast in its commitment to support the Filipino brands, communities, and craftsmen. Below, we list a few of our fashion favorites from the new pieces currently on the website.
